Linda has been an early childhood educator for over 30 years as a director of a complex early childhood centre, teacher, and early childhood intervention teacher, vocational education teacher and university lecturer. She commenced university lecturing in 1989 at the University of Western Sydney and moved to The University of Newcastle in 2009. Linda is co-author of a widely used text Working with Children and Families: Professional, Legal and Ethical Issues and the widely used ethical thinking process the Ethical Response Cycle.

Linda’s current research includes membership since 2008 of the research team working in Chile in the community capacity building project Futuro Infantil Hoy. She is also leading a project to examine and improve literacy environments in children’s services in Newcastle. Her research interests include teacher change, early childhood curriculum, professional ethics and early literacy. At the University of Newcastle She currently hold the positions in the School of Education of Director International, Program Chair of the Early Childhood Program Management Committee, and Convenor of the Masters of Early Childhood Education. She teaches a graduate course focused on teacher research and professional experience preparation courses for undergraduate preservice teachers.
